exacare ai Wins Most Valuable Product and Two Golds in Inaugural Skilled Nursing News Product of the Year Awards
Admissions Engine won MVP and received the most votes of any nominee across all categories; Admissions Engine and Managed Care Agent each took Gold in their categories.
NEW YORK, November 3, 2026 – exacare ai, the leading AI platform for post-acute care operations, today announced that its Admissions Engine has been named Most Valuable Product (MVP) in the inaugural Skilled Nursing News (SNN) Product of the Year (POY) Awards. The MVP is the single honor given to the one nominee that received more votes from SNN subscribers than any other product in any category. Admissions Engine also won Gold in the Admissions, Referral Management & Census Growth Platforms category, and Managed Care Agent won Gold in the Revenue Cycle Management, Billing & Financial Performance Tools category.
The SNN POY Awards recognize innovative, evidence-informed products, solutions, and technologies that deliver real-world impact by improving quality of life, care, safety, and operational effectiveness across the skilled nursing industry. The program accepted nominations in 15 categories, which were reviewed by the publication’s editorial team and then decided entirely by a vote of its readership. Voters were asked to assess each nominee on market impact, service to the industry, and technological advancement.
“This award was decided by the people who work in and around post-acute care every day, and that is what makes this recognition especially meaningful to us,” said Laird Russell, Co-founder and CEO of exacare ai. “Seeing Admissions Engine named Most Valuable Product, with more votes than any other nominee in the program, tells us we are building the right things. It also pushes us to keep listening closely to our customers and find better ways to serve them. To every subscriber who took the time to vote for us, thank you.”
One platform across the care journey
The two honored products anchor a platform built to carry a patient's record from the first referral through discharge, with the same AI foundation at every step.
Admissions Engine, the MVP honoree, centralizes referrals and supporting documentation from hospital portals, referral platforms, eFax, and email into a single queue. It reads the full clinical packet in context rather than scanning for keywords, applies each facility's admission criteria, verifies insurance, and returns an accept-or-decline recommendation with rationale in minutes.
Managed Care Agent extends that intelligence into reimbursement. It analyzes patient records against payer-specific requirements to assemble clinical narratives, flags missing or inconsistent documentation before it causes delays, submits authorization packages directly to payers, and tracks every milestone and deadline throughout the entire stay.
Over the past year, exacare ai has added to both honored products and extended the platform beyond them to the rest of the care journey:
- eSign, launched in June, lets teams prepare admission agreements from reusable templates, auto-populate them with data already in the platform, collect signatures in person or by email, and upload completed documents to their EHR.
- Concurrent Reviews, added to Managed Care Agent in August, tracks continued-stay review dates, builds editable clinical justifications from data already in the EHR, and submits by payer portal or eFax from the same place the prior authorization was run.
- Discharge Coordination, launched in October, lets teams send outbound referrals to any recipient, message them and see read receipts, track status from sent to accepted, and see every discharge date on one shared calendar.
- Data Center 3.0, launched in October, is the latest evolution of exacare ai’s reporting, with a live operational view on open, a simpler and more dynamic set of dashboards, the ability to ask questions about your data in plain language, and native dashboards for home health and hospice.
- Expanded integrations and reporting deepen the platform's connections to EHRs and referral sources and widen the portfolio-level view leaders have of referral volume, conversion, payer mix, and response times across every facility.
“The people who voted in this program are the ones inside our product. That is the feedback we take most seriously,” said Ben Willox, Co-founder and CTO of exacare ai. “Admissions and managed care are two of the most time-pressured jobs in a building, and we continue to build upon both winning products by sitting with those teams, shipping, and adding more value and workflows to what we offer. Winning both categories, and the most votes of any product in the program, says that loop is working.”
These wins follow a year of growth for exacare ai. Since announcing its Series A in late 2025, the company has expanded from skilled nursing into home health and hospice, acquired CoreCare Pre-Admit, and grown to serve more than 2,500 facilities and agencies. Many of the people who shaped that growth will be in the same room this spring, when exacare ai brings customers and industry leaders together at the exacare ai Summit 2027, taking place March 2 to 5 in Naples, Florida.
